Wheeee...wow...when'd I start this?

Well...it was awhile ago. I put it off for forever because once I had finished her face I had no desire to do the background. I'm a horrible procrastinator...(Colored Pencil)

But this is the lovely Jessica.~ The first time I've ever really drawn one of my friends...I remember a while ago, we were still in high school and in our Humanities class -- having a good time with Schneider and art and jokes. Well, I realized I really wanted to draw her. She is (with no offense to my sexeh pretty friends :3) the most gorgeous person I know. She's talented and funny and nice and wonderful. And she's just...Jessica. I can't explain it. She used to intimidate the hell out of me because I thought she was too perfect to exist -- but when I became friends with her, I just discovered that she was a beautiful person inside and out. I wanted to capture it somehow. And it's the first time I've really had a desire to draw someone I knew...Normally I'd be petrified to do that, because if I drew them weird or something they might take it personally. But yes...I drew Jessica in this picture back March or something, and I did the background/clothes this week. A bit pathetic, but...what can I say? When I wanted to draw Jessica, I did not want to draw what was behind her. XD

Next thing I draw: No background.

But anyway...
I love Jessica, she's probably one of loveliest people I'm likely to meet in my lifetime...and I'll miss her when she's away.

How lovely! Hello jessica! I really got a great impression of who she is, and what she's about from this. Excellent colour scheme, beautiful technique- soft but defined and confident. :)

Really hard to say anything bad about this piece, or to offer anything constructive except maybe that what's going on with her clothing is a little unclear to me. And the only other little thing is that the wrinkle to the left of her lips looks a little overworked. But other than that...that's it!! This is truly tremendous and stupendous and wonderful piece. So much detail to get lost in, yet it's all unified and whole. Great job. I hope she likes it too! :)

Did I mention that I think this is your best piece yet? You should draw from life (or at least draw from people you know) more often!!! :)

Yes! XD I did!
I figured I should before I left for school...it was always there, looking at me, wanting me to draw it...
And I was like "no ):" and it sobbed.
AND YAY!

And yeah, I can understand where the clothes would be confusing...it goes along with the background, if that makes any sense. But...I think XD...she's wearing a zigzag-ish black and white scarf, a blue dress with white polkadots, and a black jacket over that. I loves Jessica, with her layering. XD

I think so too...but I've drawn people from life before...in my art class...they were unkind. ): "Oh my gaaawd, do I really look like that? Is my nose really that big??" "NO. LET ME FINISH."
But, yeah, constantly doing that worked my nerves. It wasn't fun for me, no...
